Our team eliminates surface ripples in drawn parts, keeps production flowing.
A customer was drawing a larger part—a lawn mower deck—and seeing irregular, unsightly surface ripples. Frustrating, because the problem could only be detected after forming. To find the right a solution, we had to find the cause. And we did, identifying the ripples as Luder’s lines, created when the material yields inconsistently.
Listen to hear how we combined several finely-tuned steel processes to ensure the steel would flow evenly when drawn.
